World Food Programme cerca Esperto Audio/Video (Roma)

This position requires the appointment of an experienced Audio Video (from now on A/V) technician to support and assist the Senior A/V Technical Assistant for the delivery of standard A/V support services, as well as monitoring and maintaining a wide range of information (e.g. user manuals, set up schedules, maintenance schedules, etc.) to contribute to the effective delivery of A/V services in WFP Headquarters (from now on WFP HQ) in Rome.

STANDARD MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Education:

  • Completion of secondary technical school education with concentration in subjects such as Electronics and Telecommunications; Electrotechnics and Automation; Industrial Physics.

Experience:

  • At least 4 years of progressively responsible and proven effective, hands-on experience in deploying, troubleshooting, maintaining and managing A/V systems, Simultaneous Interpretation Systems, Videoconference systems and A/V wiring and distribution equipment.

Technical Skills & Knowledge

  • Deep theoretical and practical knowledge of analogue and digital Audio Systems
  • Deep theoretical and practical  knowledge of analogue  and digital Video Systems
  • Deep Knowledge of the most common Simultaneous Interpretation System
  • Hands-on experiences in analogue and digital audio and video mixers
  • Knowledge of Videoconference systems
  • Knowledge of Sat TV systems and their issues
  • Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Project, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) and other standard office software packages and systems;
  • Working knowledge of electrical systems is desirable;
  • Experience with facilities management software (e.g. Archibus) is desirable.

  • Ability to understand and establish priorities and work by objectives;
  • Ability to work in a team, and establish effective working relationships with people from different nationalities and cultural backgrounds;
  • Ability to work under stress and work overtime when required;
  • Ability to consistently and effectively communicate with internal customers (WFP HQ users) with different backgrounds and competencies.

Language:

  • Fluency (level C) in oral and written English and Italian.
