Leadership and Management Development Programmes

People and Project Management Responsibilities:

  • Create a master project plan to manage the sessions of the respective programmes
  • Track progress made on project plan and give regular status updates to advisory board and lead sponsor
  • Organise meetings for project team, with key stakeholders, with advisory board/ lead sponsor and with external learning provider
  • Liaise on a regular basis with external learning provider
  • Lead, supervise and manage the project team to complete in a coordinated way, in time and with the expected quality all project tasks

Learning Coordination Responsibilities:

  • Keep updated any learning solution for the Leadership Development Programmes
  • Lead and coordinate the actual preparation of the learning events (booking and setting up rooms and needed equipment, preparing webinars, testing e-learnings, sending invites, notifying line-managers, printing material, inviting sponsor(s) for the opening of face-to-face sessions, inviting and briefing guest speakers)
  • Coordinate and follow-up on the follow-up activities in the leadership development programmes (coaching sessions, micro-actions, etc)
  • Track and report evaluation of the programmes by participants, the behavioural changes achieved and the impact on the organisational KPI’s and provide monthly reports on leadership programmes
  • Manage unforeseen challenges during the administration, preparation, scheduling phase of the programmes
  • Oversee the administration of the programmes through LMS to assure effective and efficient administration of the programme with limited manual effort

Quality Assurance:

  • Ensure quality of learning experience from preparation phase until final follow-up activity
  • Ensure consistency in terms of branding, style, language of all communications shared with participants, line-managers of participants and stakeholders
  • Ensure quality and consistency across the facilitators and implement corrective actions based on collected feedback when required

Programme Facilitation:

  • Co-deliver in a professional way some of the leadership programmes to our WFP leaders in close collaboration with external professional facilitators (this might require travel to our duty stations)

Communication/Events Responsibilities:

  • Define and implement the engagement/communication plan in line with the overall people strategy communication
  • Lead the Leadership Development Channel in our Learning system and facilitate discussion boards as appropriate
  • Organise, prepare and set up webinars with internal and external guest speakers on leadership and management themes

In addition, the consultant is expected to support the Capability Development branch with other learning programmes from the learning needs analysis through vendor management, learning solution development, learning delivery, LMS administration until learning measurement and reporting.

Required competencies:

The consultant should have the following technical skills/experience:

  • University degree in Human Resources Management, in Business Management or related field.
  • Proficient experience in project management with a minimum of 10 years ‘experience in managing learning and development projects for large-scaled global capability building/development solutions
  • Must: previous experience with leadership development & learning at a large scale
  • Strong vendor management experience
  • Excellent interpersonal skills to collaborate and influence internally with various stakeholders and subject matter experts across business functions, levels and geographical areas
  • Creative problem solver, flexible and constructive approach to overcome challenges
  • Multi-cultural sensitivity
  • Details-orientation, organised and excellent time-management
  • Working knowledge (proficiency/level C) of English and intermediate knowledge (level B) of another UN official language (ideally French or Spanish)
  • Advanced knowledge of MS Office
